Featuring guest choreographers David Parker, Bebe Miller and Fritzlyn Hector. Parker, artistic director of The Bang Group, is creating an exciting new piece for Hofstra dance majors. Miller’s 1983 work “Guardian Angels” is being restaged for the concert by Nancy Duncan, producing director of CoDanceCo, Inc., as well as Dancing Classrooms Long Island. Hector, who is currently performing in the Off-Broadway show STOMP, has dance and teaching experience in stepping, hip-hop, house, Haitian folklore, Afro-Caribbean and traditional African and modern dance.
Tickets: $12, $10 for senior citizens (over 65) or matriculated non-Hofstra students with ID.

Many graduates have gone on to success in film, television, on Broadway and off-Broadway and as members or founders of renowned dance companies. Hofstra's close proximity to New York City enriches the curriculum and provides incomparable opportunities for internships and other experiential learning projects.
The department presents six plays and two dance concerts per year, including our Shakespeare Festival. One of Hofstra's best-known and longest traditions, the Shakespeare Festival is widely respected as an excellent training ground for aspiring actors. Dance students have the opportunity to perform choreography by acclaimed dance artists, including faculty and guests. Students also perform their own choreography at the American College Dance Festival and at various venues in New York City and on campus. Both drama and dance students have additional performance opportunities with affiliated student clubs.
Department of Drama and Dance faculty have incredible credentials in performance, direction, production and choreography. Students in both drama and dance praise the nurturing and professional atmosphere of the department. Facilities include the John Cranford Adams Playhouse, a large proscenium theater that seats more than 1,100, and the 200-seat Black Box Theater.
