Percussion at Hofstra

The Hofstra University percussion faculty believes in a well-rounded musical education in many performing styles, from popular music to contemporary classical percussion. Each of our instructors has many years of professional performing and teaching experience.

As a percussion student at Hofstra you can take advantage of the numerous performing ensembles, including the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra. In addition to these major ensembles, percussion students are strongly encouraged to participate in the Percussion Ensemble. This group performs classic percussion ensemble repertoire and explores different areas of world music and contemporary compositions.

Hofstra University is very close to New York City, where students can take advantage of the seemingly unlimited musical events that take place there every day.
