With a wide variety of career options, professionals working as political scientists (for think tanks, nonprofit organizations, colleges and universities, political lobbying groups, and labor organizations) earn an average annual salary of $107,420 when they reach mid-career, according to the Bureau of Labor Statics 2010 reports.
