Creative Arts Therapy

These graduate programs and courses are offered by the Long Island, New York campus of Hofstra University.

This program is designed to prepare students for a clinical art therapy focus by in class learning and application through practicum and internships. Students have the option to choose from a variety of settings, such as hospitals, outpatient programs, geriatric facilities, medical facilities, museums, schools, home-based care and in other locations where therapy is included in treatment.

Our program, which is approved by the American Art Therapy Association since 1984, provides a solid foundation with content that generates new and innovative ideas. With Hofstra's support in technology a variety of computer programs are available in the Hofstra Labs and a variety of teaching methods are experienced by students. All of our classrooms are equipped with wireless internet and smart boards.

Students from this program will be able to follow the guidelines of the Art Therapy Credentials Board and apply to become a registered art therapist after required supervisory hours are completed.
