The Gitenstein Institute for Health Law and Policy offers exceptional, highly motivated students the opportunity to become influential thought leaders and help pave the way for positive change in the U.S. health care system through innovative and multidisciplinary learning experiences.

The Institute’s mission includes developing and implementing new methods for training students in order to broaden access to quality health care for everyone and to create a more just health care system. Hofstra’s Master in Public Health (M.P.H.)

Hofstra’s Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) offers an innovative curriculum and advanced training for the next generation of public health professionals. The program combines the expertise and resources of the School of Education, Health and Human Services, Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine and the North Shore-LIJ Health System, and features faculty from both the medical school and senior executives at the health system. Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine at Hofstra University

The Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine at Hofstra University has a fully integrated curriculum that enables students to apply medical science to the care of patients from the beginning of their medical education and throughout their educational program. To express this full integration, the School's curriculum is described as the First 100 Weeks and Second 100 Weeks. The entire curriculum is organized upon a framework that encompasses the School's ten core values, eight core competencies, educational program objectives, eleven guiding principles, and five curriculum drivers.
