January Session gives current Hofstra students, as well as visiting students, unique opportunities to earn up to four credits in just three weeks. In addition to on-campus classes students can Study Abroad in Venice, Hofstra in Athens, and Hofstra in London; choose from almost 40 undergraduate and graduate distance learning (online) courses, including the popular ENGL 161 (LT) How The Simpsons Saved American Literature, and ANTH 003 (BH) Culture, Tradition and Transformation; and for the second year make NYC your classroom through exclusive HU in NYC classes such as PR 180E New York and the Media, and CRM 187E Down and Out in New York, which focuses on how New Yorkers have reckoned with underemployment, joblessness, and poverty in the past and continue to do so today.
