Christopher C. Catching, Ed.D.

Dr. Christopher C. Catching currently serves as the Assistant Provost and Executive Director of the New Opportunities at Hofstra Program (NOAH). He is a native of Newark, NJ and graduate of the Newark Public Schools. Dr. Catching completed his undergraduate studies at Montclair State University in New Jersey as a scholar in the Educational Opportunity Fund Program (EOF) New Jersey’s state-supported program that assists students who have faced educational and socioeconomic disadvantage in their educational pursuits.
Prior to his arrival at Hofstra, Dr. Catching served in a number of capacities at several institutions as an academic and student affairs administrator, while teaching and conducting scholarship in the areas of educational equity. He most recently served as Director of Multicultural Engagement at Rutgers, The State University in of New Jersey, New Brunswick, where he coordinated the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation program (LSAMP) providing academic, financial and social support initiatives for underrepresented students majoring in STEM disciplines. Dr. Catching earned a Doctorate in Education from Rutgers University, Master of Arts in Higher Education from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Montclair State University. Dr. Catching is committed to providing students with access to opportunities that prepare them for transformational leadership.

Roosevelt Smith Jr. is an alumnus of the NOAH Program at Hofstra University. Mr. Smith holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Public Administration. Mr. Smith serves as the Pre-Freshman Summer Academy Coordinator. He also serves the campus community by advising several student organizations. Prior to joining the HEOP family, Mr. Smith worked in the Office of Student Assistance at Pace University, where he specialized in student financial services. Mr. Smith is committed to the personal and professional development of students.
Allisa Stanislaus, M.S.

Allisa Stanislaus serves as the Academic Advisor for the first and second-year NOAH Scholars and the Academic Engagement Coordinator, where she works closely with faculty to develop and deliver rigorous academic experiences for first-year NOAH Scholars . In addition to those responsibilities, she serves as the Assistant Pre-Freshman Academy Coordinator. She is a proud graduate of Hofstra University and the NOAH Program where she earned a Bachelor in Business Administration. In addition, Allisa completed her Master of Science degree in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies in May of 2012 at Hofstra University. Allisa joined the Hofstra team in 2002 and played an integral role as the Student Liaison for the NOAH Program. She enjoys working with students and looks forward to continuing growth of the students and the NOAH Program.
