Welcome to a New Beginning!
Orientation, for undergraduate transfer students, occurs in two steps. First, you must register for classes at a Transfer Day. Once you have registered, you will be invited to attend an orientation program to help you get acclimated to Hofstra's campus. Prior to the fall semester this orientation program is called Welcome Week and prior to the spring semester it is called Winter Welcome.
New Student Orientation begins with your Transfer Day program, which are registration days reserved for new undergraduate transfer students. At your Transfer Day you will have your transcript(s) evaluated, attend an advisement and student affairs orientation presentation, meet with an advisement dean, and register for your first semester classes.
Transfer Day programs are typically held on various dates in June, July and August for students beginning class in the fall semester and November, December and January for students beginning class in the spring semester. The program begins in the Office of Undergraduate Admission, Bernon Hall, South Campus. Click here to view event dates and to register for your Transfer Day!
If you have any questions about class registration, please contact the Office of Admission via email or 516-463-6700.
Transfer Day programs are followed by either Welcome Week prior to the fall semester classes or Winter Welcome prior to spring semester classes. During these programs, you will learn about the academic and co-curricular resources and support services Hofstra offers. These events also give you an opportunity to meet an interact with fellow students in a social setting as you settle into life at Hofstra before classes begin.
