As founder and CEO of MyWorkster, Jeff Saliture ‘08 is securing his position as one of the brightest young minds in the social media marketplace. Since founding MyWorkster in 2005, Jeff has helped grow the company from a dorm room start-up to a leading professional networking utility that provides access to 5 million jobs and thousands of human resources.
Prior to founding MyWorkster, Jeff and longtime friend Yusuf Qasim founded SaveandTrade.com, an innovative online system for purchasing and trading textbooks on college campuses. Within one year, their system had saved students approximately $150,000. They successfully sold the business in 2006.
Seeing the impact of networking utilities like Facebook on social trends, Jeff responded by building the same successful social model into a professional utility. This was the foundation for MyWorkster. Since then, Jeff has overseen the company's deployment of a world-class product that is changing the way students, graduates and employers network.
Jeff’s powerful vision, leadership and determination have enabled MyWorkster to outpace its peers, grow and leverage market opportunities to claim leadership in a crowded Web space.
Through Jeff’s efforts, Hofstra University has become the first higher education institution in the United States to provide online career advising through MyWorkster.
Jeff, who resides on Long Island, holds a BA in history from Hofstra University. He is a strong advocate for environmental protection
