Q1. How can I update my information with the Alumni Affairs Office?
A1. You can update your information a few ways. You can call Alumni Affairs at (516) 463-6636, fax us at (516) 463-5897, e-mail us or write to us at Libby and Joseph G. Shapiro Alumni House, 150 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549-1500. For your convenience you may also update your information online by quickly filling out our online Keep in Touch form or through the Alumni Portal

Q2. What is the Hofstra Alumni Organization and how can I get involved?
A2. The Hofstra University Alumni Organization is the governing body of our more than 115,000 alumni worldwide. All alumni are welcomed to be a part of this diverse Organization and there are a multitude of ways you can get involved! Visit our Alumni Organization page for details.

Q3. How can I get access to my transcripts?
A3. It's easy! Log on to myhofstra.edu, enter the Hofstra Portal - Hofstra Online site and request one free of charge. If you do not have your network ID or password, simply call us at: (516) 463-6636 and we will assist you. Or, you can visit the Transcripts page for more details.

Q4. How can I purchase Hofstra merchandise?
A4. You can buy Hofstra paraphernalia through Hofstra's Bookstore no matter how far you live from campus! Alumni receive 10% off your purchase, and when you return for Homecoming Weekend, you'll receive 20% off. Please be sure to show your updated Alumni Card.

Q5. Why should I get my Alumni HofstraCard? How do I get one?
A5. Look at our Alumni Card benefits which details the many benefits and services associated with the card. You can obtain your card by contacting us using the information above.

Q6. How can I find out what Alumni events are taking place?
A6. Visit the University Events Calendar. You can sort by "Alumni" or view all of Hofstra's upcoming events.

Q7. How can I start receiving the Hofstra Magazine?
A7. If you aren't receiving the Hofstra Magazine, it may be because we don't have your updated home address on file. Please contact us or fill out the online Keep in Touch form. To read excerpts online, visit our Hofstra Magazine page.

Q8. How do I access the Alumni Message Board? Is this safe?
A8. The Alumni Message Board is restricted to Hofstra Alumni. In the past we have had anonymous and crude messages posted on our board. Our Web site includes the latest security features to insure that information you send across the Internet cannot be read by others. We use secure sockets layer (SSL) – a type of very strong cryptography – to pass the information between your computer and our server. The information you enter is verified with the account we have for you in the Alumni database. If you have problems accessing the board, click for help.

Q9. How can I make a gift to Hofstra?
A9. Visit the Office for Development's page on Ways of Giving. This outlines the many wonderful contributions you can make to Hofstra. To make donations online using our secure site, or for information on how to call or mail in donations, visit our Gifts page.
