Experience the diverse musical talents of Hofstra University students from different disciplines as they come together to perform at a “salon” among the works in the exhibition 50/50: Celebrating Fifty Years of the Hofstra University Museum.

Travel the world through engaging experiences with authentic objects and works of art from 6 continents. Kristy Caratzola, the Museum’s Collection Manager will lead each hour-long session where participants explore a different culture or cultures each month and make personal connections between their own life experiences and the objects presented. March's session features royal and courtly arts of the Americas and Africa.
Fee: $5 general public, $3 senior citizen (65 and over). Seating is limited - advance registration is required.

April's session features ancestor worship in Oceanic art.

International Slow Art Day
11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Exhibition Viewing: Emily Lowe Gallery, Behind Emily Lowe Hall, South Campus
Lunch: Au Bon Pain, South Campus

Take part in this international day of slow art viewing led by Hofstra University Honors College student Ashley Rothbart. Look slowly and carefully at give specific works on view and then gather with other participants for lunch at Au Bon Pain (participants pay for their own lunch) to enjoy a lively discussion about the works. Admission to the exhibition viewing is free. Advance registration is preferred.

Warhol and Writings: Postmodern and Existential Poetry Reading

Hofstra University M.F.A. in Creative Writing students share their original postmodern poetry inspired by works in the exhibition The Lyon, the Which, and the Warhol. Reception to follow.

The Golden Global Drum: Global Explorations for Families

Journey through the music of the world with drummer and educator, Napoleon Revels-Bey in this interactive performance that links drumming to the world's cultures through story and song. Fee:$ per "family" of four (4); $1 per additional attendee; Advance registration is preferred.
