During her decade of teaching at Hofstra University, Professor Cafarelli has employed a student-centered pedagogy. This teaching approach is enhanced by use of the state-of-the-art information and communication technology made available in the business school classrooms. Student involvement is required and is considered a necessary "contribution" to the class. Current events are typically integrated in the curriculum in order to illustrate the real-life application of IB concepts. Professor Cafarelli typically coaches students to engage in critical thinking and learning, rather than memorization. She seeks to prepare students to apply both classroom and textbook theory to current real-life business situations with an emphasis on time management, team building, and oratory skills.
