Art is a realm of duality, an arena where opposites are accommodated, and coexist in a synergistic reconciliation. Art has existed as long as there has been human culture, although in recent times there has been no consensus as to its definition. For me the purpose of art is to embody a vision. If successful, this embodiment should be resonant in a way that defies analysis. Art students should be encouraged to give form to their innermost desires, to be self-critical and to learn from the responses of others.
