Academic Scheduling

Academic Scheduling is an area with the Office of Academic Records / Registrar. This area is responsible for the class schedule maintenance and classroom scheduling. We are located in Memorial Hall, Room 213. We can be reached at (516) 463-4387 or academicscheduling@hofstra.edu

Important Scheduling Information

  • Academic Scheduling only addresses requests for academic classes as well as exams and review sessions associated with an academic course. Technology requirements should be made on the Master schedule.
  • All one-time event requests for classroom space need to be submitted to the Office of Event Management via the online request form at: www.hofstra.edu/oemreserveonline
  • Submit your request at least five days prior to the event and within 48 hours you will receive Confirmation of Assignments made by the Office of Event Management.
  • Office of Event Management contact information: Student Center Room 112, phone # (516) 463-6631 and email.
The Class Schedule must be finalized before one-time events in classroom space be addressed. General timeline for request processing:
  • Fall requests = Mid-February
  • January/Spring requests = Mid-October
  • Summer requests = Mid-November

General Class Schedule Timelines:

Summer schedule
  • Master schedules are sent out mid-September and are due back mid-October.
  • Audit schedules are sent out early November and are due back mid-November.
  • Once Audit is submitted, “Request for Change” and “Instructor Change” forms required for additional changes to the schedule.
  • Class schedule booklet goes to print early December (Please note this booklet is produced by the Publications Office).
  • Class schedule is released to the Web in late January.
  • Registration begins early March.
Fall schedule
  • Master schedules are sent out mid-September and are due back late November.
  • Audit schedules are sent out early January and are due back late January.
  • Once Audit is submitted, “Request for Change” and “Instructor Change” forms required for additional changes to the schedule.
  • Class schedule is released to the Web in early February.
  • Registration begins early March.
January schedule
