2013-2014 Dining Plan Options

Look no further than the Hofstra campus to find great value, variety and convenience! We offer flexible dining plans that fit your busy schedule and stay within your budget. With a variety of locations and convenient hours, you can connect, refuel, and save time and money with one of our dining plan options. Plus, all purchases made with your dining plan are sales tax-free!

You have a choice of 19 campus dining locations that accept your Hofstra Card: Student Center Café, Bits and Bytes, Hof USA, Dutch Treats, Au Bon Pain, Cyber Café, Starr Café, Java Connect, California Pizza Kitchen, Eli’s Kosher Kitchen, Taro13, Axinn Café, Starbuck's Café on the Quad, Breslin Kiosk, Hofstra Law School Kiosk, Starbucks at Café on the Corner, Medical School Café, Subway and The Netherlands Café.

Students should select one of the dining plans below.  Please note that Plan 1 is only available to commuting students. All undergraduate resident students are required to purchase a meal plan. First-year undergraduate resident students must select plan 7, 6, or 5, as it is a condition of residency.


Plan 7:
This plan provides you with 2,150 points.
Cost per semester: $2,150
Suggested daily usage: $18

Plan 6:
This plan provides you with 2,025 points.
Cost per semester: $2,025
Suggested daily usage: $17

Plan 5:
This plan provides you with 1,870 points.
Cost per semester: $1,870
Suggested daily usage: $16

Plan 4:
This plan provides you with 1,675 points.
Cost per semester: $1,675
Suggested daily usage: $14

Plan 3:
This plan provides you with 1,525 points.
Cost per semester: $1,525
Suggested daily usage: $13

Plan 2:
This plan provides you with 825 points.
Cost per semester: $825
Suggested daily usage: $7

Plan 1:
This plan provides you with 435 points.
Cost per semester: $435
Suggested daily usage: $4

The rates above are subject to change.


After you have selected and purchased one of the plans, the plan is activated on your HofstraCard, which is similar to a debit card. All campus dining locations accept the HofstraCard. All declining balance plans come with a predetermined number of points (dollars). One point is equivalent to one dollar. Points are deducted from the proper account each time a purchase is made. Points are non-refundable.

Fall semester points may be used from the beginning of the fall term through the beginning of the spring semester. Unused fall semester points are carried over to the spring semester provided you purchase the same plan as the fall semester or one of higher value. Spring semester points may be used from the beginning of the spring semester through the end of the spring semester. All unused points are forfeited at the end of the spring semester. Designated dining locations may be closed during holidays or when classes are not in session. All dining plans are tax-exempt. Balance may not be transferred to any other account.

If you would like to purchase a dining plan, please log in to the Hofstra portal (My.Hofstra.edu) and click on Hofstra Online.  Under the Student Services menu, click on Dining Services Dining Plan Contract, and follow the instructions. If you would like to make a deposit to an existing plan, (parents click here) please log in to the Hofstra portal (My.Hofstra.edu) and click on Hofstra Online.  Under the Student Services menu, click on HofstraCard Services , then click on “ Make a Deposit “ and follow the instructions.
