The Human Resources Office coordinates community blood drives throughout the academic year. The drives are generally held in the Multipurpose Room in the Student Center and everyone is welcome to participate.

Appointments to give blood may be made by e-mail to Susan.J.Czuwak@hofstra.edu or telephoning (516) 463-7442. There is provision for walk-in donors as well.

For information regarding medical eligibility to donate blood, including ineligibility because of travel outside of the United States, please call the LI Blood Services at (800)-688-0900.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must have valid ID and know SS#
  • Minimum weight 110 lbs.
  • Between 17-75 years of age
  • No tattoos in past 12 months

DONATIONS ARE URGENTLY NEEDED. Close to 2,000 men,women,and children in our community,including cancer,transplant and surgery patients,trauma victims,newborn babies,and many others need blood transfusions each day.Since blood lasts only 42 days area hospitals are in real need.You can change that. One pint of blood is separated into components that can save several lives.Please consider making a donation and giving the gift of life. Thank you.
