Internships

In order to develop competency working with individuals and groups, students participate in internships at a variety of industrial and community organizations. For full time students the internship program begins in the second year, for the part time students, the internship is scheduled for the third year. While one semester of internship is required, students have the option to select a second semester of internship in place of a master's thesis. We have ongoing relations with many public and private organizations through our internship program. Such organizations include, AON consulting, BBDO Worldwide, Barnes and Noble, Bowne Business Solutions, Center for Organizational Excellence, Federal Aviation Administration, Hofstra University, J P Morgan Chase Bank, Lieberman Research East, New York State Unified Court System, North Shore University Hospital, Parker Hannifin, Parker Institute of Health Care and Rehabilitation, PepsiCo, E Rogers and Associates, St. Francis Hospital, and Young and Rubican, Wendy's International.

In addition to the network of professionals who supervise our interns, the Master's Program in I/O Psychology has extensive contacts with faculty at other institutions in areas related to industrial and organizational psychology.
