How To Get An Internship
All our journalism and public relations students must complete three credits of internship. That could involve three one-credit internships, a two-credit internship coupled with a one-credit internship or one three-credit internship. Students are required to work at least 120 hours for a one-credit internship; 150 hours for a two-credit internship; or 180 hours for three credits.
As part of their internship experience, students must keep daily work diaries, stay in touch weekly with their sponsoring professor and do a final paper on a theme drawn from their internship. They are expected to work hard, make important industry contacts and learn from top professionals in their field. The faculty sponsor stays in close contact with the students to make sure students have a worthwhile internship experience.
All interns must return a signed Internship Agreement Form in order to register. The intern supervisor at work is also required to submit a final evaluation of each intern's progress and efforts.
