Marketing and International Business

Chair's Welcome

On behalf of the faculty and staff of the Department of Marketing and International Business, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our departmental home page. We hope that this home page will give you a better understanding of the marketing function, as well as a general description of our department's programs and faculty.

Our department offers the following degree programs:
  • B.B.A. in marketing
  • B.B.A. in international business
  • M.B.A. in marketing
  • M.B.A. in international business
  • M.S. in marketing
  • M.S. in marketing research
  • B.B.A./M.S. in marketing
  • B.B.A./M.S. in marketing research
The department offers minors in Channels of Distribution, International Business, International Marketing, Marketing, and Promotion.

In addition to these, the department also offers certificate programs in marketing and international business at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Effective marketing decision-making requires that marketers understand consumers. Thus, our department teaches students how to better understand consumers from multiple perspectives. A strong emphasis is also placed on teaching tools applied in various functional specialties in marketing, as well as on strategic decision-making. A student majoring in marketing at either the undergraduate or graduate levels can pursue careers in product management, retailing, advertising, market research, direct marketing, E-commerce, wholesaling, and sales.

The graduate and undergraduate degrees in international business at the Zarb School provide a thorough understanding of the international business environment. Since international business is inherently multidisciplinary, students are required to complete international course work in finance, management and marketing, as well as specific courses in international business.

The department seeks to create a supportive learning environment. Our faculty are effective teachers as well as researchers. The Department of Marketing and International Business consistently scores as one of the best teaching departments in the University, as reflected by the published course and teacher ratings.

We encourage you to review our programs, courses, and faculty. Please feel free to contact me or any faculty for further questions.
Sincerely,
Benny Barak, Ph.D.
