The program prepares students for careers at doctoral level psychologists in academics, business, industry, government, and other private and public organizations. Graduates in this program are trained to apply scientific methods to the solution of problems related to individuals and groups at work. Major part of the student training includes methodology courses in research design and statistics, content courses in I/O psychology, a required internship working in external organizations, and a doctoral dissertation. A unique feature of this program is the required internship in which the doctoral students work under the supervision of a manager designated by the organization and approved by the faculty. The doctoral dissertation can be a laboratory or field study performed under the supervision of a faculty member. In addition to sound scientific methodology, the dissertation should have practical and theoretical significance.
