Major
Major: Specialization in Chinese
The Major in Chinese consists of the successful completion of 18 semester hours of Chinese language courses beyond level 2, and 12 semester hours in courses related to Chinese literature, language, and/or culture, selected under advisement. At least six hours must be taken in residence.
Minor
Minor: Specialization in Chinese
The Minor in Chinese consists of the successful completion of 18 semester hours in Chinese.

Beyond five levels of Chinese language classes, the program also offers Business Chinese and Advanced Chinese. It also offers courses in Chinese literature and culture, including:
- Introduction to Chinese Culture
- Self and Society in Chinese Society
- Modern China in Fiction and Film
- Chinese Novel: Dream of the Red Chamber
