WRHU 88.7FM

Rated the best college radio station in the country in 2015 by The Princeton Review and winner of the National Association of Broadcasters’ Marconi Radio Award as best non-commercial radio station (2014). In 2010 Radio Hofstra University became the flagship station of the New York Islanders, the first and only college radio station in the nation to have an exclusive Broadcasting agreement with a major-league sports team. Student coverage has included NHL playoffs games broadcast on ESPN and WFAN. Student journalists at WRHU also broadcast New York Cosmos soccer and Long Island Ducks baseball games, and are credentialed media covering special sporting events such as the Belmont Stakes, National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and The Barclays PGA Tournament

PRIDE PRODUCTIONS

This multi-camera production produces live online broadcasts of select Hofstra events, including NCAA Division I athletics. Students work as directors, technical directors, camera crew, and graphics and replay operators, getting hands-on experience with state-of-the-art HD broadcast systems.

TV / RADIO / WEB / PRINT

Students cover more than 100 Hofstra Pride basketball, baseball, softball, lacrosse, volleyball, field hockey, and soccer games a year for campus media outlets, including The Chronicle, WRHU, Hofstra Today, Sports Beat, and Long Island Report.
