Bio:
Educated in Moscow and in the United States, I currently am researching a wide range of media (monumental painting, terra cotta and coins) with the principal concentration in iconography. I also publish on early Islamic art, numismatics and archaeology in Central Asia. The nature of my field makes me particularly interested in cross-cultural studies and specifically in the theory of cultural exchange in pre-modern societies.
