Academic Leave and Withdrawal

Although we hope that you will be able to continue in classes at Hofstra University straight through to the day you graduate, we understand that sometimes it is necessary for students to take some time off. A complete explanation of the policies surrounding taking time off from Hofstra can be found in the University Bulletin. There are potentially serious implications, both academic and financial, if you choose to stop attending.

Please make sure that you consult with Student Financial Services and the Center for University Advising before choosing this option. It is important to note that non-attendance of classes does not constitute an official withdrawal, and does not relieve the student of their financial obligation or entitle the student to a refund.
