Apply for your Personal Identification Number(s) (PIN)

  • Every student needs to apply for a PIN with the US Department of Education at www.pin.ed.gov
  • New York State residents should apply for a New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) PIN to apply for TAP. Go to www.hesc.ny.gov.
 

To apply for financial aid, you will need one or more Personal Identification Numbers:

  • Every student should apply for US Department of Education PIN. This number is required when filing for federal financial aid (e.g. FASFA). This can be done at:  www.pin.ed.gov  or call 1-800-4 FED AID (1-800-433-3243).
  • New York State Residents should also apply for a New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) PIN so that they may file for New York State's Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). This can be done at www.hesc.ny.gov or call: 1-888-NYSHESC

While International Students are not eligible for federal or state funding, they may qualify for University Scholarships.
