EXPERT FACULTY
Dr. Robert Leonard, the Program Director, is internationally recognized as a foremost expert in this field. He has worked as a consultant for the FBI and police, counterterrorism, and intelligence agencies throughout the U.S., U.K. and Canada, training agents in the use of forensic linguistics in law enforcement, threat assessment, and counterterrorism.
REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE
Gain valuable experience through the Forensic Linguistics Capital Case Innocence Project. Working with law students and professional analysts, you will revisit language evidence that was used to put people on death row. Other serious criminal cases are analyzed by graduate linguists through the Hofstra Institute for Forensic Linguistics, Threat Assessment and Strategic Analysis.
EXCEPTIONAL OUTCOMES
Our graduates work with intelligence and counterintelligence agencies, including the FBI and CIA, and with law enforcement agencies, such as the Capitol Police. Graduates have also been accepted to prestigious PhD programs in theoretical or applied linguistics or a related field.
