Welcome To Ecology Camp 2013
For Girls and Boys Entering Grades 6-9 (Afternoon Specialty)
Session 3: July 29 - August 9
The Ecology specialty provides campers with an understanding of biodiversity and relationships between living organisms and their environment. Campers will also learn about the human impact on the environment, the delicate balance that exists within different ecosystems, and ways to improve and sustain our environment. By the end of the camp session, students will have an increased awareness and knowledge of environmental issues as well as an enhanced sensitivity and concern for the environment. Students work on guided and inquiry-based research projects to increase their scientific inquiry skills.
Campers will go on several field trips and visit various Long Island environmental sites to explore and gather information to enhance their camp experience.
