Meet the Staff
Hofstra University Softball Camp, under the direction of Hofstra's assistant softball coach, is dedicated to providing intensive instruction that is essential to the development of the young softball player, whether at the beginner or advanced level. Campers are grouped by grade and skill level.
Camp Objectives
Campers can expect a fun and competitive softball camp experience under the direction of world-class coaches and players. Several skill areas are taught, including hitting, fielding, base-running and team play. Girls are given the opportunity to play softball daily, gain self-confidence, work hard and make new friends. By the end of the session, players will have received valuable knowledge of the game of softball and will have thoroughly enjoyed themselves in the process!
Daily Program
What to Wear/Bring
Each player should wear daily: cotton T-shirt, athletic shorts and sneakers/cleats. Players must bring their own glove and water bottle. Bathing suit and towel will be needed on assigned swim days. Please label all items clearly with first and last name. Hofstra is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Each player takes home a Hofstra Pride T-shirt.
Program Director: Courtney Oliver
Former Hofstra pitcher/designated player Courtney Oliver ('08) is entering her first season an assistant coach with the Pride in 2011. Since graduating from Hofstra in 2008, Oliver spent the last two seasons in the coaching profession, serving one year as an assistant coach at Monmouth in 2009 and one year at Boston University in 2010. While at Boston University, she helped the Terriers to a 35-22 record, an America East Conference championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament, which saw the Terriers capture a 10-4 upset win over nationally ranked Massachusetts. Her Monmouth team in 2009 also finished with a 26-18-1 record, after finishing 19-22-1 the previous year.
Come train with the Hofstra Pride’s award-winning coaching staff.
