Simona Doboli received her PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2001 from University of Cincinnati. Since then she has been with Hofstra University, the Computer Science Department. Her current research interests and publications are in cognitive neural models, with a focus on creativity and brainstorming. She was an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Neural Network journal from 2005 to 2007. She is very active in promoting science and engineering activities to high-school students. She has presented several workshops on autonomous robotics to high-school students participating in the FIRST robotics competition on Long Island.
