Dr. Gerda Kamberova has a PhD in Computer Science (1992) from The University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. Before joining Hofstra University in 1999, she was a visiting assistant professor in Computer Science at Washington University in St. Louis. Her publications and research are in decision making under uncertainty, multi-sensor fusion and computer vision. Her current interests are in computer vision: 3D shape reconstruction and shape matching. She has served as a mentor in the CRA-W research mentorship program for undergraduate women. She enjoys supervising high-school student research and had advised several Intel semifinalists in 2006 and 2007.
