Graduation Requirements

You can complete your online Masters of Computer Science degree in as little as 18 months, and start earning the recognition and career advancement you deserve. Hofstra's online format makes earning a degree convenient no matter where you live. To earn this valuable degree you will need to complete the requirements established by Hofstra's Faculty and Staff.
Hofstra University will consider students for graduation and conferral of a Master of Science in Computer Science when they have met the general requirements for graduation and when they:
- Complete a minimum of 30 semester hours of credit.
- Complete the prescribed course of study for the online Master of Science in Computer Science with a minimum grade point average in overall graduate course work of 3.0.
- Students must complete courses from four areas: Fundamental Courses (9 semester hours), Breadth Courses (6 hours), Applied Courses (12 hours), Capstone Experience (3 hours).
