Curriculum
Hofstra’s M.A. in Public Relations offers a curriculum designed to enhance the learning experience of recent bachelor’s degree graduates and professionals returning to college. This program is offered full-time and part-time and can be completed in four semesters.
The 36 semester hour program is designed for aspiring and committed professionals who are seeking leadership roles in the public relations profession. Students will take a core of public relations courses: fundamentals, writing, research, survey of public relations issues, communication tools, and the business of public relations. Additional coursework will be offered through the Department of Journalism, Media Studies, and Public Relations, and Hofstra’s Frank G. Zarb School of Business.
The program is designed for busy professionals who may work during the day, and for recent graduates seeking an advanced degree. All classes are offered in the evening. Students will have the option of completing an internship or working on an independent study. Finally, a capstone project will be required of all students completing the degree.
