Undergraduate Programs and Courses

These undergraduate programs and courses are offered by the Long Island, New York campus of Hofstra University.

  • Athletic Training (B.S.)
    The mission of the Hofstra University Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) is to develop future professionals in the field of athletic training through a strong academic program and clinical experience in the management of health care problems associated with physical activity.
  • Exercise Science (B.S.)
    This program prepares students for a variety of careers in the profession of exercise and health promotion by providing learning experiences which enhance student knowledge and hands-on experiences to both develop practical skills and the application of theoretical concepts. The curriculum content also prepares students for certifications in Personal Training, Strength and Conditioning, and Group Exercise Leadership offered through recognized national organizations such as the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

  • Health Education
    This undergraduate major program is designed to provide students with the knowledge, methods, materials, field experiences, and student teaching necessary for a career as a health education teacher all grades
  • Physical Education (B.S. Ed.)
    The undergraduate program in Physical Education leads to PK – 12 teaching and coaching certification in New York State. The Physical Education program at Hofstra is the only program on Long Island with on site adventure education facilities. The program provides a strong foundation in the sport sciences, fitness training, and a wide range of individual, dual, and team sport activities.
