Student Financial Services - made up of Financial Aid, the Bursar, and Registrar - assists students and their families with funding a Hofstra education, registering for classes, and other administrative processes.

- Bursar/Student Accounts - The Office of the Bursar/Student Accounts is responsible for the billing, the processing of payments, refunds and the collections of receivables of all student accounts.
- Registrar - The Office of the Registrar is responsible for registration, collecting grades and attendance data, and other academic processes.

- Monday, January 30th - Spring 2023- Classes Begin
- Sunday, February 5th - Spring 2023- Last day to register or add a class online
- Through Sunday, February 5th - Spring 2023- 100% Tuition Refund
- Monday, February 6th - Spring 2023- Department permission required to add classes. Override form required to register.
- Monday, February 6th - Spring 2023- Late registration fee for all students begins ($300)
- Monday, February 6th-Sunday, February 12th - Spring 2023- 75% Tuition Refund
- Monday, February 13th- Sunday, February 19th - Spring 2023- 50% Tuition Refund
- Wednesday, February 15th - Spring 2023- Late payment fee assessed ($150)
- Monday February 20th- Tuesday February 21st - President's Break- No classes. University Closed on 2/20.
- Friday, February 24th - Spring 2023- Absolute last day to register for a class
- Monday, February 20th- Sunday, February 26th - Spring 2023- 25% Tuition Refund
- Sunday, February 26th - Spring 2023- Last day to drop a class without receiving a "W" grade on transcript
- Friday, March 10th - Spring 2023- Last day to file the Pass/D/D+/Fail form
- Wednesday, March 15th - Spring 2023- Late payment fee assessed ($250)
- Sunday, March 19th- Saturday, March 25th - Spring Break- No classes
- Monday, March 20th - Spring 2023- Mid-semester advisories due
- Sunday, March 26th - Summer & Fall 2023- Registration begins for Graduate/Senior class standing students at 11am
- Wednesday, March 29th - Summer & Fall 2023- Registration begins for Junior class standing students at 1:30pm
- Sunday, April 2nd - Summer & Fall 2023- Registration begins for Sophomore class standing students at 11am
- Wednesday, April 5th - Summer & Fall 2023- Registration begins for Freshman class standing students at 1:30pm
- Friday, April 14th - Spring 2023- Last day to file the repeat course form
- Friday, April 14th - Spring 2023- Last day to withdraw from an individual course- for Undergraduate students
- Wednesday, May 10th - Spring 2023- Last day to completely withdraw for all courses- for Undergraduate students
- Thursday, May 11th & Friday, May 12th - Snow/study/reading day for Undergraduate classes only. Graduate classes meet as normal
- Friday, May 12th - Spring 2023- Last day to withdraw from a course- for Graduate students
- Sunday, May 14th- Saturday, May 20th - Spring 2023- Final exams for all classes
- Saturday, May 20th - Spring 2023- Semester ends
- Sunday, May 21st - Commencement

Office Services
Most common student requests can be completed online. The following transactions can be completed in the Hofstra portal at my.hofstra.edu:
- Payments can be made online through the Hofstra portal at my.hofstra.edu 24/7 via electronic check with no additional fee, or by credit card through a third party contractor, PayPath, with a non-refundable service fee of 2.85% (minimum $3) of the amount charged.
- Course registration
- Review your semester charges
- Accept your financial aid
- Upload missing documents to process your financial aid
If you need to have a financial hold removed from your account, please keep in mind that financial holds due to outstanding account balances are removed when the balance is cleared systematically several times per day during peak periods. A hold preventing the release of a transcript is in place until the payment clears your bank unless payment is made via certified funds.
Students who need to pay with cash should email Bursar@hofstra.edu to schedule an appointment with a representative.

The Student Financial Services Suite, in Memorial Hall, is open for the following transactions only
Monday – Thursday 9am – 5pm
Friday 9am – noon (June 4 – July 30, 2021)
- Pick up checks, enrollment verification, diplomas, transcripts
- Drop off check payments in the secure mail slot outside of Room 205
- Prior scheduled appointments
