5 Year Dual Program in Physical Education and Health (B.S. & M.S.)
The dual degree program in Health and Physical Education is a 155-credit program that leads to a Bachelors and Masters degree and New York State Certification to teach both PK – 12 Health and Physical Education. Dual certification in health and physical education is the preferred credential for many school districts looking to hire either health or physical education teachers.
Adventure Education (Advanced Certificate)
The Adventure Education program is intended to provide educators with in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge that will enable them to develop and lead educational programs using adventure activities and initiatives in school, recreational, corporate and other settings. Course work will prepare participants to meet ACCT standards and be eligible to sit for Level I and Level II certification exams.
Health Education (M.S.)
This program is an initial certification program in health education that includes two tracks: for candidates who have a teaching certificate in another discipline, and for candidates who do not have a teaching certificate. In both tracks, students will obtain initial certification in health education after completing the course work in the track in which they are enrolled.
Physical Education (M.A.)
The MA in Physical Education offers certified physical education teachers advanced course work leading to professional certification.
Physical Education (M.S.)
The MS in Physical Education program is designed for students seeking initial certification for K-12 physical education.
Sports Science (M.S.)
The MS in Sports Science is designed for students seeking advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in Skills & Conditioning, Adventure Education, or teaching and coaching.
