Welcome To Astronautics Camp 2013
For Girls and Boys Entering Grades 4-9
Session 3: July 29 - August 9
New for 2013 includes Aerodynamics with Gliders!
Design, build and fly rockets and gliders!
In this exciting new program, campers get the hands-on fun of designing and building rockets and gliders, and the excitement of testing their designs and seeing them fly! All of this while also getting a fun and easy introduction to the scientific principles of astronautics and aerodynamics.
Along with using math and science in exciting, real-world applications of flight, campers learn the historical origins of space flight and its important figures, as well as scientific fundamentals such as Newton’s laws of motion, the principle of conservation of momentum, simple kinematics, and more. Additionally, campers learn to use a simple computer flight simulator provided by NASA.
Note: There is a $50 surcharge per session for additional materials and staff requirements.

M.A., computer graphics, New York Institute of Technology; B.A., fine arts/marketing, SUNY Albany. Seven years of experience teaching graphic design, Web development, and game art and design to children and adults. Author of Multimedia Projects BASICS: Curriculum-Specific Projects for Adobe and Macromedia, designed to supplement the multimedia curriculum for middle and high school students. Adjunct instructor at Hofstra University, New York Institute of Technology, Anthem Institute and Westwood College Online. Experienced as an instructor with Hofstra University Specialty Camps and Saturday Classes for Young People.
