Welcome To Cub Camp 2013
For girls and boys entering kindergarten or first grade by September 2012
Session 1: July 1 - 12
Session 2: July 15 - 26
Session 3: July 29 - August 9
Note: Session 4 Cub Camp Also Offered
The Perfect First Step for the First-Time Camper!
Cub Camp counselors are dedicated to the happiness and safety of their young campers and welcome them enthusiastically. Each group has its own set of counselors for the entire session, and we strive to maintain a 1:4 counselor-to-camper ratio to ensure maximum supervision. With the advisement and assistance of our specialty directors, counselors schedule program activities as needed. Arts and crafts, creative writing, music and science may be offered, plus a full array of lead-up sports and swim activities geared toward this special age group. Cub campers have the distinct advantage of being able to visit many of the Hofstra Specialty Camps each session to observe and get “hands-on” instruction from the talented specialty directors. Of course, learning experiences are tailored to match the children’s inquisitive minds. Through various games and crafts, our goal is to develop the children’s ability to explore, think, read and write, while at the same time provide an ideal environment for friendship and socialization. Physical development through lead-up games is a salient factor in the program, but is always leavened by fun. Daily swim instruction is individualized and is an important part of the program. Cub Camp participants have their own special events, but join with the regular camp for events when appropriate.
Note: Limited enrollment.
