Winter Orientation

Start your college career off on the right course by attending Winter Orientation. The Winter Orientation program is designed with student success and enjoyment in mind and is a student's first official introduction into the Hofstra community! During this two day program, students will be introduced to various academic opportunities, a wide range of student services at Hofstra, and learn about the campus culture.

Winter Orientation is designed to make a smooth transition into community life at Hofstra University. Knowing what to expect and being prepared once the semester starts will make all the difference.

Some highlights of the Winter Orientation Program include:

  • Resident students get to check in beginning on Sunday, January 25, 2009
  • An official welcome to the Hofstra community from the Provost, Dr. Herman Berliner and the Vice President for Student Affairs, Sandra Johnson.
  • Information sessions that will get you ahead, including sessions on the ABCs of your degree, a dialogue with the deans, technology on campus, campus employment, residential and commuting student life, a campus resource fair and much more!
  • A chance to meet other new students through a variety of social activities on and off campus!
