About the Department
The Department of English is home to accomplished scholars and writers who explore literature from Beowulf to Shakespeare to contemporary voices. With programs in literature, creative writing, and publishing studies, the department prepares graduates for a wide range of careers and lifelong engagement with the transformative power of language and storytelling.
Faculty
A community of scholars, writers, and educators whose work spans literature, creative writing, publishing studies, and cultural studies make up the faculty of the English Department. Through teaching and research, faculty foster critical thinking, creative expression, and a deep engagement with language across historical and contemporary contexts.
