in a seminar in an ivy-covered academic building. You are not seated at the back of a 200-person lecture hall feverishly taking notes from an enormous white board. Instead you are seated in a classroom with 20 fellow students, engaged in an interactive discussion led by your professor, who might be a Guggenheim Fellow or Fulbright scholar, a prize-winning scientist or CEO, or even an Emmy Award winner.
At Hofstra, pride is a way of life. Like a family of lions, who are strong and independent individuals but even more powerful together, our students, staff, faculty, administrators and alumni all contribute to make our campus a great place to live, work and play. At Hofstra, you can belong to many prides. Your pride might be an athletic team, a student club, a sorority or fraternity, your roommates, your residence hall community, a study group — anyone you connect with. It won’t take long for you to make friends and settle into your new home at Hofstra.
you will have endless opportunities for real-life, hands-on learning.

One of the things that attracted me most to Hofstra's DeMatteis School was its size: big enough to cover it all, but small enough to give the personal contact I needed.
The students are serious and engaged. Many are willing to work very hard and would be among the elite at any of the greatest universities in the country.
The Hofstra University community offers students a wealth of honors, enriched and resource-intensive opportunities to meet your individual learning, life and career goals, including Honors College, First Year Connections, dual-degree programs, and more.
