The Counseling & Mental Health Professions Department affirms its commitment to recognizing, addressing, and eradicating all forms of racism. As counselor educators, clinicians, students, and staff, we commit to engaging and collaborating with campus and community stakeholders to challenge racial injustice and oppression in all arenas, including institutional racism and implicit bias. We actively strive to examine and confront racism, power, and privilege, and the impact they have on students, faculty, staff members, and our clients.

1. To affirm, in united solidarity, our identity as an anti-racist academic unit.
2. To demonstrate anti-racist values in all aspects of the life and culture of the department through our policies, programs, curricula, and practices.
3. To engage in the development and implementation of strategies and best practices to dismantle racism and ethnic oppression within our academic unit, university, community, and society.
