Undergraduate Programs

Bachelor of Arts

  • Journalism – This program is designed for students who want to pursue a career in online, broadcast, or print journalism or information graphics. Students are also required to take a liberal arts minor and complete at least one internship.
  • Mass Media Studies – This program prepares students for careers and graduate study in a wide range of media-related fields, including media law, accounting and management, politics, and education. Students are encouraged to complete an internship.
  • Public Relations and Strategic Communication – This program is designed for students who want to learn about integrated marketing communication, media relations, copywriting, and digital and internet-based tools in preparation for a public relations career in a variety of industries, including corporate, nonprofit, and government. Students are required to complete at least one internship.

BA/MA Dual Degree

  • Journalism – This dual BA/MA degree program allows students to complete both an undergraduate and graduate degree in just five years, a year less than if each degree were pursued separately.

Minors

The department offers a minor in each of our programs, as well as one in integrated media (a combination of courses from all three concentrations). Each minor has specific requirements and is completed under advisement and with approval from the advisor.
