For over 30 years Bruce has helped polish the skills of hundreds of broadcasting professionals at various colleges throughout the northeast. For decades he has also served as a well known on-air television meteorologist. He has spent time on television stations in Springfield MA, Boston MA, Hartford CT, and Long Island NY (where he can be seen on News 12 Long Island). Bruce works with students on many levels and is available to work with students interested in pursing a broadcasting career in weather forecasting.
Director of Operations / Professor
For over 30 years, John Mullen has been involved in radio program management and content development. John Mullen handles syndication, content convergence, and new media technology development for Radio Hofstra University. He is in his 8th year as the Executive Producer of all NY Islanders Radio Network live game broadcasts syndicated to CBS Sports Radio WFAN AM/FM NYC, Salem Radio 970 & 570 AM NYC, Sirius/XM, LI News Radio WRCN FM Long Island, WRHU FM, and NHL.com / NHL Game Center App. He has overseen the production of over 560 (and counting) live NHL game radio broadcasts. Mr. Mullen is in his 2nd year as Executive Producer of live game broadcasts for the Long Island Nets (the NBA development league franchise owned by the Brooklyn Nets). He also served as Executive Producer for NY Cosmos NASL live game radio broadcasts during the 2016 season.
Before joining Hofstra, John Mullen spent 4 years as Operations Manager of legendary Emmis Communications radio stations KISS FM / WRKS FM and CD 101.9 / WQCD FM (the worlds most listened to Smooth jazz station) in New York City. Prior to that he was Program Director of CD 101.9 / WQCD FM New York City, Research Director of Hot 97 / WQHT FM New York City, and Program Director of legendary Urban radio station WBLS FM New York City. Additionally, Mr. Mullen has programmed online music channels for MTV Digital and served as Long Island Bureau Chief for Metro Networks / Shadow Traffic. He began his radio career working in program and research management at another legendary station adult standards Stereo 1130 WNEW AM (the longtime home of NY Giants NFL live game broadcasts). John also worked briefly in promotions at WPLJ FM New York City. John Mullen also helped develop the world’s first nationally syndicated classic rock mash-up mix show "Rockmixx" with his partner DJ Rafe Gomez.
Ed Ingles has over 40 years experience in news and sports broadcasting in New York City radio. He served for 24 years as Sports Director at WCBS AM 880 New York City where he also was heard as a morning drive time sports update anchor for decades. During his career Ed Ingles also was a NY Jets NFL football and St John's college basketball broadcaster for many years. In addition Ed appeared on the CBS TV NFL pre-game show numerous times. Besides working sports broadcasting Ed Ingles was a well known news broadcaster for a variety of New York City radio stations especially during the early parts of his long career.
