Specialized Programs in Education

Welcome to the Department of Specialized Programs in Education (SPE).  We invite you to become acquainted with the faculty, staff and the diverse spectrum of academic programs that are offered.  Studies in health and physical education can be done at undergraduate and graduate level, including a unique five-year dual degree dual certification program.  Graduate degrees range from master’s level preparation to advanced certificates and doctoral study in the following fields: leadership, literacy studies and special education.  SPE faculty are committed to preparing reflective educators and leaders prepared to work in a wide range of school, community and university settings.

    Welcome to the department of Specialized Education Programs. Our programs are designed to prepare 21st century educators for the changing landscape in education. The faculty in our department is committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. 

    Through field experience, internship, and experiential learning opportunities students gain practical experience in a wide range of educational settings.
