Master of Arts or Master of Science in Urban Ecology

  • Prepare for a career in a wide range of public and private institutions and agencies, including environmental education, environmental consulting, natural resource management and conservation with both non-governmental and local/state/federal organizations.
  • Learn from faculty who are active researchers, journal authors, and experts in a variety of fields, including applied and environmental microbiology; aquatic animal behavior and ecology; molecular biology and evolution; plant and soil ecology; and developmental genetics and tissue-specific gene regulation.
  • Get involved with one or more ongoing research programs – from studying terrapin behavior in Jamaica Bay to microbiology on Long Island vineyards and lead hazards in residential soils.
