MLK Day Parade and Ceremony

Hofstra University and Hempstead Village will pay tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during the annual parade and ceremony, which will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026. The parade will assemble at 9 a.m. in front of the Village Hall (99 James A. Garner Way) and proceed to Hofstra University campus. The ceremony and program will be held at the Sondra and David S. Mack Student Center beginning at 10 a.m.

Join us as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with community members, youth, educators, and elected officials. Together, we will engage in a meaningful discussion about reinterpreting Dr. King’s vision and reimagining his dream for the future.

Admission is free and lunch will be served. Please RSVP.
