Annual MLK Day

Martin Luther King Day of Education and Action

Saturday January 21, 2023

The Annual MLK Day of Education and Action, organized by the Office of Equity and Inclusion, featured a Social Justice Expo and an interactive workshop; "Activism: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow" presented by Dr. Jonathan Lightfoot, Mr. Dorian Segure and the ABG Schultz Middle School Law Club students, Dr. Tomeka Robinson, and Dr. Andrea Efthymiou.

The Social Justice expo was followed by a workshop, where guests had an opportunity to learn about local community organizations and ways to get involved. The Expo also gave students, faculty, and community leaders a chance to network to foster future collaborations, programming, and events.

"I just want to say, well done! Thank you for organizing such a wonderful event and inviting Morrison Mentors to serve as a vendor for the day. We enjoyed listening to the speakers and love that the youth were highlighted! We also connected with quite a few of the other vendors and attendees who expressed interest in our programs. Continue to keep up the great work and we would love to stay connected for future collaborative opportunities.”- Community Leader
