Rajesh Shah
Director of Sales, Koehler Instrument Company
Dr. Raj Shah currently holds the position of director of sales, marketing and technical services at Koehler Instrument Company, New York. Primary responsibilities include overseeing the technical services and marketing and sales departments, supervising field service support, setting up distribution channels worldwide, designing new test methods and product development.
Besides this he has actively been involved in research activities in the field of lubricant grease degradation analysis, developing various bench scale procedures to test lubricants, greases, and additive development, alternative fuels, wear and friction studies. While at Koehler Instruments, he concurrently held a research scientist and an adjunct professor position at Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey, and is currently also an adjunct faculty member in the Engineering department at Hofstra University, New York. He is currently on the board of directors representing the School of Engineering for Graduate School Alumini Association (GSAS) at Penn State University, University Park, Pennsylvania.
He is an active member of ASTM, STLE, NLGI, SAE, ACS and AICHE and chairs subcommittees in several of these organizations, and is on the board of directors at NLGI. Previously, he was a member of the editorial advisory board of Lubricants World Lubrication and Fluid Power and Practicing Oil Analysis magazines and is currently an associate editor for Tribology and Lubrication Technology.
Dr. Shah has a Ph.D. in chemical engineering with specialization on petroleum and tribology research from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pennsylvania. He also has certifications in marketing and management from Long Island University, New York, and is fluent in six languages.
