Message from Chairman Richard J. Puerzer

Students majoring in the programs offered by the Engineering Department often pursue internship opportunities. Because of Hofstra’s location in the New York metropolitan area, there are often many opportunities in the local region, although students also have taken advantage of internship opportunities across the United States. In order to help prepare students for these many opportunities, the Engineering Department supports numerous activities. The department has an internship coordinator -- a full-time engineering faculty member who is charged with seeking internship opportunities for our students. The department also sponsors event sin which professional and graduates discuss career opportunities and network with our students. Finally, there are opportunities for students to work with engineering faculty in conducting grant-related research.
