Hofstra Gifted Camp will provide your child with fun, stimulation, idea-building and much more -- all on our beautiful Long Island campus. Campers will choose two areas of content they would like to participate in. Campers will participate in each content area for 45 minutes each day. Campers will attend special field trips and hear from guest speakers.
Note: A $50 nonrefundable admission fee applies. Eligibility criteria apply (see website for details).
Full-Day Upgrade: Makerspace Experience ($500)
Grades 6-10 | For campers registered in any GBA program
Replaces Rec & Swim with a full-day, advanced Makerspace immersion.
About the Makerspace Experience
Be immersed in ALL the cutting-edge technology used at camp in one incredible Makerspace! With full access to 3D Printing, Game Design, Robotics, Virtual Reality, Digital Art, Video Production, Esports, Digital Music, Artificial Intelligence tools, and so much more, the Makerspace is where campers take control, push boundaries, and bring their biggest ideas to life!
Each day, they'll explore new technologies through fun guided lessons - then choose what to dive deeper into as they create projects that match their own passions and ideas. Whether designing a game, building a robot, composing music, creating an animation, or inventing something totally original, every camper's day is filled with learning, discovery, and creativity on their own terms.
How to Add the Upgrade (Important)
- When registering online for any Game Builders Academy program designed for students in grades 6-10, the system will automatically offer you the option to include the full-day Makerspace program during the checkout process.
- If using the printed application, select a GBA program and mark the Makerspace Experience option at the bottom of the page.
Schedule: Camp takes place Monday-Friday from 9:00am-4:00pm. Campers will be in their program for part of the day and partake in lunch, swim, and recreation for the other part of the day.
