Standard III Design & Delivery of the Student Learning Experience

An institution provides students with learning experiences that are characterized by rigor and coherence of all program, certificate, and degree levels, regardless of instructional modality. All learning experiences, regardless of modality, program pace/schedule, level, and setting are consistent with higher education expectations.

This standard demonstrates that the University delivers a rigorous education at all levels, programs, and modalities. Broadly, this standard seeks evidence that Hofstra provides learning opportunities that are appropriate in length and structure, delivered by a qualified faculty with adequate resources, and offering students essential skills in areas like global awareness, communication, analysis and reasoning, including a review of the general education program.

Some of your work may overlap with that of other Working Groups, notably that of Standard V: Educational Effectiveness Assessment. Consultation with this Working Group is encouraged to avoid duplication of effort and to identify appropriate linkages between standards and institutional priorities.
